Full-Time PRODUCTION ASSISTANT 2 / DRIVER

KENAI CORPS - Kenai, AK


The Salvation Army's Kenai Corps has an immediate opening for a full-time Production Assistant 2 / Driver. This position will be required to work in different Salvation Army Peninsula locations including: the Kenai Thrift Store; the Soldotna Thrift Store; the
Warehouse; the Food Pantry; and the Church. The individual will be responsible for driving vehicles, pick-up and handling of donations, coordination of volunteers, moving and rearranging of sales and storage space, and general maintenance including but not
limited to: snow shoveling/plowing, lawn maintenance, garbage disposal and janitorial duties as required.


This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. Starting rate is $11.00/hour.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE but are not limited to:

o Direct all Thrift Store and Food Pantry pickups; including (but not restricted to): Drop boxes, all store properties inside and outside, call-in pickups, loading/unloading commodities, or food bank pickups, etc.

o Supervise assigned community service workers

o Sort incoming donations; general upkeep of warehouse space

o Direct maintenance and upkeep of all Corps properties through use of employees, volunteers, and personal duties; perform janitorial duties and minor repairs as needed or direct contracted repair company

o Maintain Corps' vehicle fleet


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

o High school diploma or equivalency preferred; basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills required

o Ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and supervise others

o Demonstrated professional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the public, co-workers, volunteers, and donors

o Ability to lift and carry 100 lbs. for 100 feet

o Ability to demonstrate the highest level of business and client confidentiality

o Must be 21 years of age (to meet organization's driving requirements)

o Current unrestricted Alaska driver's license and acceptable driving and criminal history background checks required
