We are currently seeking an Industrial Services Laborer to join our growing team!


Position Overview:


Industrial Services laborers perform various types of industrial cleaning and emergency response cleanup activities. Typically, tasks include cleaning the interiors of fuel tanks, storage tanks, and railroad cars to remove petroleum products, emulsion, and scale to meet project specific cleanliness standards. This is an on-call/seasonal position and will work when billable work is available. Typically work days are 8 to 16 hours for 1 to 7 days per week depending on project requirements. Seasonal projects typically run from May through October. When required, must be able to work weekends, holidays or in remote location for 2-5 consecutive weeks.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



+ **Safety and Security** - Observes all safety and security procedures at all times. Report any unsafe procedures to supervisors and always uses materials and equipment for its designated purpose.


+ Drains tank, connects hose to water or steam lines, and sprays walls, roof, and bottom of tank to flush residue such as oil, acid, grease, and sludge through tank openings.


+ Test atmospheric conditions of tank prior to entering a confined space and during cleaning process.


+ Enters confined spaces to scrape and scrubs walls to remove scale, sludge and product residue. Sweep up debris and shovel sludge into drums. Uses suction hoses from an air moving units.


+ Removes chemical residues and other liquids from tank bottoms with squeegees or pump and suction hoses.


+ Safely operate and perform basic maintenance on standard equipment used for industrial cleaning work such as; pressure washers, generators, pumps, and ventilation fans or blowers.


+ Accurately, legibly and thoroughly complete project, maintenance, safety and inspection documentation.


+ Other duties may be assigned at any time deemed necessary to support other departments or locations operational needs.



Minimum Qualifications and Experience:



+ High school diploma or GED


+ Class B CDL with HAZMAT endorsement is preferred.


+ 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or current refresher is preferred but, required prior to starting work.


+ Confined space entry and rescue certification, preferred.


+ Ability to read, understand and apply safety practices and procedures.


+ Understand and follow multi-step written or oral instruction.


+ Perform simple calculations including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.


+ Able to read, legibly write, speak and understand the English language.
